Work Has Started Again on Sweet Giordan! #amwriting

For those of you following the saga of Sweet Giordan, Please Remember you know that I requested my rights be returned to me from DSP so that I could turn the Hearts in Reverie Series into what I'd always envisioned: all colors of the rainbow!

I've started my edits / expansion of Hearts in Reverie #1: Sweet Giordan, Please Remember.

The original story *will not change*. You won't see wildly drastic plot shifts. Giordan won't suddenly be a rockstar with a drug problem who part-times as a nanny... But what you will see is "Y'all" spelled correctly ;) and Shane's PoV.

So far...it's been an interesting experience getting into his head. He's a pretty damaged guy.

I don't have a deadline on when the story will be available for purchase again, but Beaten Track Publishing said 'Yes, absolutely' to publishing the series--so a venue is lined up.

More updates when I have them! Thank you for supporting me through this odd endeavor. :) I appreciate it!

Why Sweet Giordan, Please Remember Has Gone Temporarily Out of Print #NewDirections #MMRomance

If you're looking to buy my book Sweet Giordan, Please Remember...unfortunately you'll have to wait. (I'm sorry!) It is *temporarily* out of print. (What? What?! WHAT???) But do not worry! The sweet amnesiac is returning SOON with a fresh, shiny edit and an expanded story line!

The Hearts in Reverie series was actually the first set of gay romances I ever created... WAY back in 2004! And Sweet Giordan was the first novel I ever had contracted for publication. Dreamspinner Press did a great job with it and I'm eternally grateful to them for all they did for launching my writing career.

This is NOT about anything DSP did wrong...

But the world of Hearts in Reverie is SO much more than just the beautiful Giordan and his lover, Shane Devereaux. In addition to the gay romances, there are lesbian rom, transgender rom, and het rom... The story is about hearts and love and spans many colors in the LGBTQ rainbow. These characters have been building inside of me for over a decade and as I tried to write the continuation of the series, I found I was self-censoring and changing things around to fit the M/M romance market, unfairly silencing these colorful charas I had created.

And as time went on, I finally reached a point where I couldn't drown out their voices any longer. I want desperately to write and publish the ENTIRE world, including the romances that don't fit what DSP is looking for.

So I gathered all my courage and I approached Dreamspinner openly with my plans for Hearts in Reverie and a request for rights reversion. They were gracious enough to let me have my rights back.

Hence Gio's temporary break!

So what's next???

First off--I revisit the world of Sweet Giordan. I have ideas about the expansion of Gio's story. What that ultimately will look like, I never know until my fingers are on the keyboard, but perhaps Shane's PoV?

This will NOT be a re-write. None of the events in Sweet Giordan, Please Remember will change. There will just be...more!

From there, I'll take off, dancing through the town of Reverie and visiting its many wonderful residents (and peeking into their sweet romances!)

Thank you for loving Gio the way I love Gio!

Something Beautiful for Sweet Giordan! #mmromance #fanart

I'm a sucker for art--ask anyone who's known me for more than three seconds and they'll tell you, "That Raine O'Tierney, she sure does love art." I love when people give me art they've done. I double love when they draw for me. And the ultimate, cherry-on-top pleasure of mine? Story art and fan art.

I was insanely blessed recently to receive my first ever piece of Sweet Giordan, Please Remember art this week. Ms. Kari Higa, knowing how important the peach orchard is in the story, drew the peach trees in full bloom. She even incorporated Christine Griffin's original sketch of Shane Devereaux.

This picture makes me so insanely happy. I'm sure Kari knows this, as I've only told her three hundred million times. But I want the world to know: insanely. happy.

Which leads me to a thought...

If you ever have the urge to put pencil or pen to paper and draw with a Raine O'Tierney story as your inspiration, I will be a level of grateful the likes you've never seen. ^_~ You might even be like, "Whoa, Raine. Chill. I get it. You're happy." And also, I'll showcase your work on my site! :)

Something to consider, artists. *Hint, hint!*

#GIVEAWAY : Who Love Magnets? PLUS Writing Updates! #MMRomance

It has been a long time since I've updated, but I promise it's for a good reason!

I've been writing.
And writing.
And writing.
And also...writing.

I just heard back from the GR MM Romance group and my free fiction, Somebody Nice!, has made it through QC and is ready to go. I do not have a release date on this bad boy yet, but believe me, when I know, you'll know! (I probably won't shut up about it.)

Also, I've been racing against a rapidly approaching deadline, but I finally feel like I have things in hand rather than wildly veering out of control. (Always nice!)

For those who did not hear, my YA novel I'll Always Miss You is in revise & resubmit status with Harmony Ink right now. I need to make a rather significant change--but one I think will help the story fit better for HI. It's not a hard change, it's just a long change. So once the above deadline has been met and CRUSHED(!) I will get to working on that.

...Then I can start something brand new! I've been dreaming about a brand new series for almost two months now. Shh! It's a secret.

Finally, The Most Beautiful Words in the World has entered pre-production. I dedicated it to my Paw-Paw, of course. The heart of the story is my wish that I'd listened to more of his tales. Most Beautiful Words is my favorite piece of writing to date, and I'm so pleased it's found a home with Dreamspinner Press.

All right, if you've hung on this long, it's time for a...

Sweet Giordan, Please Remember Cover Reveal!

It's here! It's here! OMG, my novella is available for pre-order which means... COVER REVEAL!

Artist Christine Griffin went into my brain and plucked out exactly what I imagined and then made a cover of it. Her cover perfectly embodies the gentle feelings of Sweet Giordan, Please Remember. Plus Shane is like, stupid beautiful. <3

BUT...it gets better! My release date? March 19th. Okay, so what's so special about March 19th, Raine O'Tierney? Nothin' much... BUT-! because of timezones and such, my book ACTUALLY comes out at 11:00 p.m. on March 18th...otherwise known as: *drum roll* MY THIRTIETH BIRTHDAY!

I now want NOTHING at all for my birthday--I've already got the best present anyone could ever hope for!

I would be DELIGHTED if you would consider checking it out:

http://www.dreamspinnerpress.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=4772&cPath=1024

Giordan Stone is lucky, all things considered. Sure, he spent five years in a coma only to wake with a right leg that’s practically useless and no memories other than his name. But now he’s under the care of sassy southern surrogate mother, Chloe Devereaux, spending his days painting and healing. Giordan wants for nothing at all… until he looks out the window one morning and sees Chloe's gorgeous son, Shane, standing there. Something very familiar stirs in Giordan.

When he sketches, Giordan is able to go into an “art trance” where pieces of disjointed memory come back to him without time or place. More and more of these flashes are of Shane Devereaux and the intense, intimate experiences they shared together. Even though Shane keeps his distance now, Giordan is convinced his flashes are real. But he doesn’t have the whole story. Giordan is determined to fill in his memory blanks and convince Shane his feelings are genuine.

The Year My Character Gave Me Socks!

*~*~MERRY CHRISTMAS~*~*

I got some truly AMAZING gifts this Christmas: an apothecary set from my husband, a rejection journal from McFannywiggle (to let me know I'm in good company when I get that dreaded rejection!), and the dachshund-rific Dachshund-opoly from JC! And also... *drum roll* the sushi socks...

Holy...moly...WOWZA! Green! Sushi! Socks! <3 This, of course, was for my library's first annual "Sock"ret Santa gift exchange where we drew names all exchanged socks. Except, my Green! Sushi! Socks! were from someone very special. Chloe Devereaux.

O'Tierney, who is this Chloe Devereaux? Well, hopefully you won't be asking me that after March 2014! Chloe is the mother of one of my MCs in Sweet Giordan, Please Remember which DSP is putting out this Spring.

And a VERY sweet "Sock"ret Santa cared enough to make sure my sassy southern chara sent me sushi socks. Green ones.

Holy Wow-za, I have an estimated release date!

So... Sweet Giordan, Please Remember has an estimated release date of Mar-Apr 2014! A springtime release for a sweet, fresh story. I'm VERY pleased! (Though honestly, I would have been pleased with ANY release date. 2084? Yeah, I can work with that.)

I will say this... I've discovered that I actually ALWAYS had an estimated release date. Yes, going all the way back to the very first day I received the contract. It was actually IN the contract. Now you might be thinking, "Raine? Did you even read the contract?" Yes! I did! I uber-read it, if that's even possible. Out loud. Page by page. Stopping to re-read what I didn't understand.

But when I got to the last page, the release was down in the contact information and my eyes went... sliiiiiiiiide. It wasn't until a fellow Dreamspinner author pointed it out to me that I said, "Oh! There it is!" I'm a nerd.

Should I be so lucky as to be multi-published, I will not miss future release dates. I promise. :)
